SweetWater is a small, elite; home-based business. Our dogs are imported from top quality breeding programs in France and Canada. We are striving to produce animals that are true to the breed standard; strong genetically, and excelling in good temperments, intelligence, and sound bodies. Our dogs live in the house as part of the family and puppies are handled from birth. We would never breed an animal we wouldn’t choose to live with ourselves. And we are highly selective inplacing our rare breed pups.

The Blue Picardy is a rare breed of dog originating in Picardy, France. This sporting breed excels in the field as a working dog and is being recognized as a wonderful family companion. They are great with kids and other animals.

Blue Picardies are athletic, intelligent and incredibly affectionate. Their biddable nature makes them easy to train, and their fun, sweet temperments quickly endear them as beloved pets. They have easy care coats and mature about the 60 pound mark making them the ideal medium sized dog. These dogs are not recognized by the AKC and are relatively unknown in the United States, in fact to my knowledge, I am the only one breeding them right now. They are beautiful animals inside and out; and once you’ve welcomed a Blue Picardy into your heart and your home, you’ll never want another breed!
