American White Shepherd Association

The American White Shepherd Association is striving to gain acceptance and equality for our dogs through the separation of the white coated German Shepherd Dog into it's own distinct breed, the White Shepherd.

The United Kennel Club has offered the White Shepherd full breed status with their organization beginning January 1, 1999. They are requiring 350 whites to be registered with them at that time. Full breed status would give White Shepherds the opportunity to have their own breed ring, apart from the GSD, and give them the same, full rights and advantages as other recognized breeds of dogs within UKC. All whites currently registered as German Shepherd Dogs with either the American Kennel Club or the United Kennel Club are eligible to participate. Canadian Kennel Club registered white GSDs are also invited to register their dogs with UKC.
